Artist Aloud.com allows budding musicians to launch their work with international labels

If you think you have it in you to become the next Lady Gaga or Eminem, you might just be one click away from attaining stardom. Artist aloud.com gives you an opportunity to showcase your musical talent on its digital platform and even helps you get an album with international music labels.

A unique platform in India for original and unreleased music, Artist Aloud.com introduced an initiativewhere11 independent artistes, both Indian and international, got a chance to be heard and appreciated.
In its first edition, via the upload feature on the website,users sent in their unreleased original work to the site and 11 singers were handpicked to bring out the first made-for-digital compilation—ArtistAloud.com First1s. The most voted single will be released by Universal Music in physical format. It is also the first time the label is releasing digital content CDs.

The artistes include Nishant Mudgal, Mehreen Mahmud, Lal Chandra and Himanshu Chawla, Joelene Dove,Jacque Taylor,Yunhi, Pradip Somasundaran, Vinapra, Siddhartha Chattopadhyay, Naad,and Muziminds.

Variety of genres So while there’sanIndian, an Australian and even a Bangaldeshi among the winners, the music genres also vary from Hindi, urban indipop to Bengali rock and Malayalam pop,to even devotional and folk. Taylor is leading with about 43 lakh votes at the moment.

Soumini Paul, general manager, Artist Aloud.com, says, “Some amazing music was uploaded, so instead of waiting for the artistes to put up more music,we thought we’djust take their first tracks as singles and make a compilation.”She adds that through the website,artistes whodon’t have the funds to get an album, can now reach out to big labels and digital platforms.

Ashish Joshi, Universal Music India, says,“We’d released the first album of Lady Gaga,and nowshe’s a leading singer.The idea is to groom and nourish new artistes.We’re trying to find out ways to hunt for more talent from both India and abroad.” 

Going by the response, Artist Aloud.com now plans to carry on with the endeavour to launch more musicians in the future.
