Divorce is almost as old as marriage. Infidelity waits to adapt to new means of technology. Earlier there were secret love notes and furtive letters. With the advent of mobile phones, people restored to secret text message and now it is the information superhighway. Relationships are difficult to analyse. Why one relationship has failed is a matter of great introspection. One should not apply a rigid norm to the same. A relationship will break down if it is destined to, no matter what. On the negative side, social media has reduced the one-to-one closeness that existed in days of yore. A good conversation with a friend has been reduced to a message on the wall or a status update. Nothing is sacred and everything possible is flaunted before everyone in cyber space. However, on the positive side, the internet has broken down the barriers of communication. A loner is often able to express himself better on the cyber forums. The Internet has definitely helped expand our reach.

Technology like text messaging, chat and networking sites cannot be blamed for divorces. Technology has however, played a great role in finding or connecting people. It has enabled us to get information quickly and spread awareness about various issues. Moreover there are benefits of the internet. Even if this technology has become a crucial piece of evidence for proving infidelity of partners, we shouldn't blame the technology for anyone's bad intent. Even when internet wasn't around, divorce were happening. Divorces happen due to various reasons. Sometimes partners do not stick to their commitment. Sometimes they don't share anything with each other, which creates a great deal of miscommunication between partners. People sometimes complain that their partners don't show enough affections. On many occasions, due to various reasons, partners are unable to return a call, even that can result in misunderstanding. One may be busy with work and have very little time to spare, even this may create problems.
