Pakistan leads in online sex search

July 15, 2010

Washington: They may call it the 'Land of the Pure', but Pakistan ranks as the top country to proportionally search for certain sex-related terms on the web. The country that banned 17 websites to block offensive and blasphemous material is the world's leader. in online searches for pornographic material.

"You won't find strip clubs in these countries. Most Islamic countries have dress codes," Fox News quoted Gabriel Said Reynolds, professor of Islamic studies at the University of Note Dame, as saying, "It would be an irony if they haven't shown the same vigilance to pornography."

Its top searches include terms like 'horse sex', 'rape pictures', and 'child sex', according to Google. Pakistan is known to be very strict in banning anything that poses to be anti-Islam, and so is porn, but no action seems to have been taken by authorities towards this new trend.
