'I've said what I wanted to say!'
THE TWITTERATI may have woken up tweeting their travel woes and other thoughts mostly relating to the bandh yesterday, but site members were soon also privy to a big online conflict. The controversy that developed involved young director Punit Malhotra, who has made the new Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor romantic comedy, and veteran columnist Shobhaa De.
The latter had voiced her opinion on how she hated boring love stories in her city column on Monday. And by mid-morning yesterday, Malhotra vented his feelings in an open lashing on the Internet to De.
A tweet by him called De an 'old fossil' and he even went on to say that the acclaimed author 'isn't getting any action'. When contacted, the tweets and did not want to comment on the issue.
What's also interesting about this development is that Sonam also endorsed the film-maker's point of view as she retweeted Punit's comments adding 'haha!' Sonam also removed her tweet soon.
De, who was slated to leave for Sri Lanka last night, was looking forward to spending the day writing. When asked if she felt the comments were rude, she says, "I've said what I wanted to say in my column and it begins and ends there. End of the (Luv) story!"
